Commercial Manager

£40-55,000 plus commission . pension, holiday and life assurance

This is a great opportunity for an established Commercial Manager to join this exciting organisation supplying solutions into the construction sector.

The business is on an ambitious growth trajectory and they recognise that in order to meet the challenges that come with this, they require a strong Commercial Manager to ensure that their sales targets are achieved.

This Commercial Manager position will provide an exciting and varied role for somebody looking for their next challenge.  Successful candidates should come from a commercial  background as they will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the Commercial Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a small team of sales professionals, developing their skills and maximising sales potential
  • Working with the Marketing Manager to develop a commercial strategy, marketing key products, monitoring the stock levels, developing new product sales and ensuring our customer service continues to be outstanding
  • Manage all commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin.  Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and manage the expansion of our service.
  • Manage the commercial budget, monitoring all costs and profit lines and maximising sales.

Ideal candidate:

Individuals who have experience as Commercial Managers and ideally you will have experience in the construction or build environment sectors.  You will have managed a team of sales professionals and have a proven track record demonstrating how you motivate a sales team to deliver results.
A strong commercial leader, with a full understanding of current market conditions.
A highly numerate individual with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.  Using their new bespoke CRM system to utilise data to benefit sales development.
A methodical, conscientious and organised individual who works to deliver high standards.

You will be a confident presenter, able to represent the organisation to external interested parties and be involved in promoting their new product ranges and develop their profile as a thought leader in the construction sector.

Strong IT skills, working knowledge of computer systems within the commercial environment, i.e. project management/payment and valuation software

Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.  You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects. With strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally is vital.  The company is growing and there are opportunities to grow the team.
